Market and Psychology Research, side by side

Meanwhile i was doing research on building up my inspiration, i was a also researching on things that would make my collection a new product and a sellable product
For that i had to learn about the psychology of masses or my target customer.
To try and understand this i read a book called

Norman, Donald A., The Psychology of everyday things (1988), which tells us about the thinking of everyday product buyer, basically humans.
I wanted to understand that why do people buy things at first place. So while surfing, i came across really interesting book called 'Why we Buy'

Shields, Rob, Lifestyle Shopping (1994), teaches about consumption in products.

I got some insight throught these books on how the things around us influence the buying system. other than that the trends take an important part in fashion. They are also derived from Influences around us.

With a lot of money spent, experts working with deep insight on global issues and financial changes around the world, create a platform or a base for designers to pick themes to perform. Forecasting is important because it enables the designer to easily pick a theme, which would be sellable in the long run and create a collection. The Forecasting helps to define the silhouettes, the color, the surface treatment and even the fabrics for the collection. Forecasting for me has still to be done but on reading some part of the book called Fashion Forecasting.

I have started getting insight on how the process of forecasting works. In addition to that I am working on another book called Color forecasting to define the palette for my collection.

Apart from that i am researching In Paris to understand the market and the trends. I hope to get the points that would effect my collection and make it distinctive.
